Trades are accepted, even if we already have the isopod you're wanting to trade, we like genetic diversity. Anything on the website is tradeable. Each trade will be equal in currency value for each party. Before anything is shipped each party will show their paid shipping labels. Please contact us when wanting to do a trade.
Shipping Isopods:
When shipping isopods having ventilation on the lids is helpful but not required. Too large of holes can let babies crawl out and possibly die. You can create holes in a 8oz deli dish with a needle or with a soldering iron.
Shipping with sphagnum moss is the best option to ship them in. You can also use damp paper towels. Put enough moss in the culture and fill it to the top. Do not pack in the moss, the isopods need to be able to move around. The moss can be damp but not dripping wet.
Using a brush with fine bristles, brush them into an empty container to help with collecting the correct count you're wanting to ship. When you have the correct amount, dump the isopods into the culture with the sphagnum moss.
Once you have your isopods in the container close the lid so none can escape.
With your shipping box, place something that will cushion the culture during shipping. Most people use packing paper as its fairly cheap to use or you can use news paper as well.
Place your cultures on top of the packing paper, no need to compress it down in order to help maintain the cushioning.
Place more packing paper on top of the cultures you are shipping. Once you have everything in the shipping box, close and tape the flaps down.
After closing the shipping box place the shipping label on top of the box. You can also put fragile stickers all around the box so the carrier will hopefully take better care of the box.
